Griffin Wheel Company, a division of Amsted Rail, is a North American

Position Summary:
Plans and directs projects on equipment development
and process changes. Plans and coordinates pre-production trials
of new wheel designs and design changes to existing designs. This
individual is expected to be a 'hands on' willing to run tests, work
closely with technicians to meet production demands, collect data and
communicate results to team members and others within the organization.
The incumbent is directly involved with the management of small projects
involving equipment, processes and product modifications. The incumbent
will need to be able to solve some of the industry's problems through
re-design, and that will involve interfacing with technical
representatives from the industry. The incumbent will need to be
available to travel to the plant sites as well as customer facilities as
needed. Estimated travel time is 25%.
Minimum Qualifications:
- BS in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) required.
- One to three years experience in the design and development of
mechanical products. Prior project management experience preferred.
- Knowledge of CAD software (AutoCad and Solid Works).
- Strong communication and interaction skills.
- Demonstrated success in bringing product from design through
introduction on time.
- "Hands-on" engineer.
