Senior Technical Platform Support Specialist | PNC | Overland Park, KS

As a Technical Platform and Support Specialist Senior and a member
of PNC's Information Technology group, you will be responsible to
provide high level technical support for critical business
applications. This role will be responsible for coordinating the
exchange of data with our clients, investigating and resolving problems
reported by customers, and providing recommendations to and working
closely with internal and external support groups. You will be
based in Overland Park, KS and part of a diversified financial services
firm that reflects the needs, values and goals of our customers,
employees, communities and shareholders. You will be institutional in
helping to maintain PNC's reputation for technology excellence in both
business applications and new innovations.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Coordinate the exchange of information between our clients
- Configure and troubleshoot communication setups (FTP, SFTP, NDM)
- Perform requirements gathering, system design, task delegation, and
process implementation.
- Provide technical application support to existing in-house systems and
3rd party applications.
- Strong client service focus
- Work closely with vendors, business users and technical support teams
- Assist in requirements and technical specifications for enhancements
- Monitor systems, collects and analyzes data to ensure compliance with
established service levels and to support system capacity planning
- Maintain system documentation for end users and the support desk, and
provides instruction on pertinent technical aspects of assigned systems
- Participate in the development and testing of disaster recovery plans
for assigned systems
- Participate in the evaluation, selection, and implementation of
technology solutions to meet current and projected needs
- Need to be available and be able to support all business functions off
hours and/or from home on an as needed basis
SKILLS
- 3+ years experience with file transfer using FTP, SFTP
- 3+ years experience with communication software Connect Direct
(preferably Windows based)
- 1+ years experience with SQL Server 2005/2008 Administration preferred
- Strong knowledge base of Windows operating systems
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Self-starter that proactively seeks to improve the stability and
productivity of assigned systems and applications
- Effective time management, communication, decision-making, and
organizational skills
- 3+ years of experience managing and supporting server and web based
applications/systems on a Windows network is required.
- Large enterprise support experience (high volume of support issues,
complex systems support, large databases)
- Experience troubleshooting application related problems
- 2+ years of applicable work experience in the financial, banking, or
commercial real estate industry is preferred.
EDUCATION
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science,
Mathematics, and/or equivalent work experience
- Current Microsoft certification in Microsoft Windows Server or
Microsoft SQL Server is preferred
EXPERIENCE
- 7+ years of technical experience in Information Technology.
